What is there to do in Buenos Aires between Christmas and New Years?

The company I work for closes down between xmas & new years, so I have a week to go somewhere. Buenos Aires sounds like an interesting place.

  1. Give gifts.
  2. party!!! the weather is amazing..the people are great! it seems that in Buenos Aires people forget about the social issues and their own problems and focus on having a good time and preparing for the new year. Make sure you know where you are going given that some areas are dangerous and also, have someone with you at all times specially if you are going to be drinking. You'll have a great time!!!
  3. Let me tell you, is the most wonderful time of the year to be in Bs As, party all the time, all the people is going from a job asado (bbq) to a friends reunion or going out to a bar with a lot of friends to be together and have fun. I am from there, now living in USA and if there are something I missed beside my friends is the good time and the spirit around Christmas in Bs As. Good Luck and have fun !!
  4. 5. Hey CJ First of all if you do make the trip to B.A. you will have the time of your life!!! It gives me chills thinking about it because for that very reason I moved here a year ago and I have no plans of going back...maybe just to collect more of my stuff and bring it back down here ;) In December it is very hot, so pack shorts, sandals, and t-shirts. Definitely check out Plaza Serrano...It is the coolest plaza during the day. Lots of outside cafes and just an all around amazing vibe. You should definitely check out Tigre for a day to relax outside of the city. There is a cool "Island, Beer, and BBQ day" that you should check on the website below. At night you can also check out the parties that we throw. The Buenos Aires Pub Crawl will definitely take your trip to the next level. Incredible food to eat...especially meat. Your money will go a long way down here and that is a fact. Pretty much you can expect to extend your trip or find yourself looking for ways to move down here...it's that good. I hope you make the right choice and come down. It will change your life. P.S. When you get off the plane get ready to be greeted by some extremely attractive Argentine girls in skimpy Santa outfits that will be selling perfume in one of the stores. You might find yourself in that store for a long time and not knowing why...haha cheers, The Buenos Aires Pub Crawl Crew
  6. It is summer ,very hot and very humid .You have great beaches ,Mar del Plata .San Bernardo @ tons more . I've lived in California for 20 years @ the one thing I really miss is the change in seasons .In Buenos Aires when is summer you can just go ahead and put your winter clothes away for 3 or 4 months .Have fun !
  7. Its a very interesting city. I have family there and that's the best time to go. El Caminito, La Recoleta, La Boca, Perto Madero, El Retiro, SanTelmo all are the famous sites within Buenos Aires. There are a few more that aren't as well known as these. Theres la Calle Florida where all the shops are. Also Plaza de mayo, Casa rosedal, Avenida 9 de Julio. It just depends on where you want to go. As a cultural thing dont forget to attend an Asado and go sit at a park and drink mate with some friends. Go to a FĂștbol game in La Boca and watch the Boca Juniors play and learn to dance flamenco. If you want to leave Buenos Aires for a few days I would recommend going to Caratas de Iguazu or Mar del Plata. But with everything to do in Buenos Aires if you leave within that week you wont have enough time to see it all! Have fun most of all!
