Visitors Planet

Space travel and visitors from another planet?

Well it would take millions of light years, to travel to another planet, suppose the only way would to be frozen, until you arrived? However let us consider other dimensions, this thought could change everything! Let us consider 10 playing cards, together, well from 1 to 10 would take time. However if the cards were together going from the front to the back, would take a fraction of the time? I do not want to lecture you, just giving an idea. Your opinion would be appreciated. Thanks Keith Well wdmc, yes I saw the site and of course we live in 3 dimensional world, height depth width. However, we can’ t go back in time and I was talking about worlds in different dimensions ? Sorry you did not understand!

  1. The Phoenix probe took only about ten months to get to Mars, which is another planet. Light years is a measure of distance, not time. If you are talking about going to other stars, that would take a long time by conventional methods, yes. There is some thought that "warp" travel might actually be possible. Is that what you are getting at?
  2. The distances involved in interstellar travel are prohibitive, according to our current level of knowledge. Even at a tiniest fraction off light speed, which is pushing the realms of scientific possibility, it would take years to reach even the nearest stars. This isn't very convenient for a vacation, and you're right, some type of suspended animation might be feasible. However, one theory out there is that it might be possible to fold space-time itself, so that instead of simply travel travelling from point A to point B you could travel directly from point A to point B WITHOUT travelling through the space in-between. It may not be possible to join two distant points in space in this way, at any technological level, but it is the most elegant solution. Hyper-drives or slipstream technologies might also be viable at some point, but only if the Light Barrier is really breakable. If space-time folding were possible, you might be able to walk through an archway on one planet, and emerge on a planet on the other side of the known universe instantaneously. This device has been well used in science fiction, and fantasy fiction too in the form of 'portals'. If aliens were going to bother visiting our planet, they would need a pretty compelling reason to bother going to the trouble. It will be interesting to see how aliens do openly arrive here for the first time...
  3. I certainly hope you aren't trying to lecture. Your explanation leaves a lot to be desired. Here is a better one: Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkxieS-6WuA Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySBaYMESb8o&feature=channel
  4. I agree with you. I think to visit anther planet would be amazing.
