What place is a better alternative than Bangkok?

The zoning in Bangkok is so bad. So many tall buildings in narrow street. Malls are designed like a shoe box. Manila has better malls.

  1. It depends upon what you need in the "better alternative". Singapore is much cleaner. Hong Kong got more expensive malls and living conditions. Also I don't think all the malls in Bangkok are designed like Shoe box. For example, Siam Paragon, Central Chidlom, Emporium etc are spacious. However I agree with you that there are lot of tall building in narrow streets.
  2. Kuala Lumpur is a better alternative!
  3. Well I never go in Malls in Bangkok except if it is raining or extremely hot. Malls are alien to me and very expensive. As for Manila: I have heard it is dangerous at night. Have you tried THE USA? They have big malls. But anyway for me Bangkok is the greatest city in the world. Nothing beats it. Paris, London, New York, Rome, all rubbish compared to Bangkok. Maybe you should try Tokyo. Lots of Malls there. Or Hong Kong
  4. I recommend you go to Manila then.
  5. Pattaya is a better alternative. Not so many tall buildings. Malls can be ignored. Transportation and hotels are really cheap. Do you really think that the new Mall of Asia in Manila is a nice design? All of those separate buildings where you have to go outside and then inside and then outside, etc. How about the Robinson Mall, Ermita, where it goes on foreverrrrrrr! Happy hunting.
  6. Better alternative in what way? Personally, when I stay in Bangkok I stay on Ratchadapisek Road away from the tall buildings and narrow dark streets. There are fewer skyscrapers and open areas. I stay near Huay Khwang or near Sutthisan Road. Yeah, most malls are shoe boxes just depends on the designer. Are you buying the mall or what's in it. LOL Your options are? Manila, costs more, more crime. etc. Ho Chi Minh City, ah dealing with communists Kuala Lumpur, supposed to be a beautiful city, somewhat tolerant towards things. Singapore, another beautiful city, very expensive. Hong Kong, same as Singapore. what are you shopping for that is so important? When you learn where to shop you don't care where you shop to me. Thai malls are very basic and to the point. Each level has a relative theme or type of things to sell. So the shopper does not have to go far. Then they group alot or most restaurants on one floor so you don't have to go hunting for them. I don't understand your problem, this is Asia, they do it there way not yours.
  7. Maybe, Hong Kong could be a good choice for you.
