What are the best suburbs in East Bangkok in terms of transport connections to central?

I am looking for a place to rent and I need to be able to get to Minburi AND central Bangkok (or at least a short five minute taxi ride to Sky Train/Underground). Please can someone advise which areas would be the best for this?

1. There are no suburbs as such. Bangkok is one spralling mass of a city. Anywhere along or near Sukhumvit road will be close.
2. Chatuchak area close to BTS Morchit and close to JJ Market or Ladprao Area too but Ladprao is traffic jam
3. I think you might be best off picking one or the other - a 5 minute taxi rde can be one traffic light from the skytrain - not more than a few blocks off the rte - - You might try Pattarnakarn - a freind of mine has a nice rental house there which feels like the suburbs - - some land and gardens etc.. not too far from expressway -
